CWC Software, Inc. continues to introduces new features for our QuickFill users. Some recent additions include:
Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007 compatibility
QuickFill is compatible with the Windows Vista operating system. The 'Export to Excel' feature of Print Saved Reports is compatible with Excel 2007 and the free file conversion utility, QFConvert, reads Excel 2007 and Access 2007 files.
Additional data is now being captured when QuickFill serves an issue.
QuickFill now attaches 'served issue' records to each subscription. These records record the exact classification, request type and service code when each issue is served. A new screen has been added to ‘Lookup’ to allow you to view the ‘served issue’ records for a subscription. This information will be helpful in resolving certain customer fulfillment-related inquiries. These new records also allow for more accurate reporting of adds and drops by issue.
Users can now change their own passwords.
In prior versions only designated users, those with the right to define user access, could change passwords. Now, in addition to these users, a user can change his/her own password at any time.
Creation and change date fields have been added to the customer record.
There are five new fields: the date the customer record was created and the dates of the most recent change to the postal address, email address, telephone number and fax number. These new date fields appear on the Customer Details screen. They are automatically maintained by QuickFill. These five date fields also appear in the subscription and customer export files, the ODBC driver, and are accepted by the subscription, prospect and customer data imports. The filters for the 'Promotional Labels', 'Customer Directory' and other related reports and exports have been updated to include date filter ranges for these five new fields plus one more: last contact date. The last contact date is defined as the most recent of the creation date, the most recent address change and the most recent order for any subscription linked to the customer.
Major changes introduced in the ABC/BPA/VAC Audit version including:
QuickFill now tracks more detailed information about issues as they are served. This data enhancement increases the accuracy of information required for your Publisher’s statement and related reports. The new data also makes it possible to run add/drop reports for served issues at any time. To re-align our terminology with that used by ABC, BPA and VAC, we have renamed some of the existing subscription classification codes and we have also introduced some new classification codes. The ABC magazine Publisher's Statement report has undergone major revisions to conform to ABC's latest format. Filtering by service code is now available on the Average Circulation report. Because the numbers on this report are now obtained by scanning the 'served issues' records instead of the issue table it is now possible to determine the exact number of copies served by classification and service code. This is important for publications with print and electronic editions, or with regional editions. For ABC magazines the rules have changed regarding which subscriptions are subject to reclassification after three years. Only verified individual request subscriptions (VI with request type INR), and NPI (non-paid individual), NPL (non-paid list source), NPA (non-paid association) and NPM (non-paid club membership) subscriptions are subject to reclassification under the three year rule.
The QFConvert file conversion utility is now distributed free with QuickFill. QFConvert can be used to extract data from a variety of sources and convert it to a dBASE or comma delimited file. One of its primary uses is to extract name and address information from rental lists, clean up the data and put it into a format that can be imported into QuickFill as a prospect file.
The transaction importer is an optional extra-cost module that allows you to import transaction data that has been keyed outside your QuickFill system into your QuickFill database.
Data for new orders, renewals, payments, address changes, controlled subscriptions, and requalifications captured virtually anywhere no longer need to be rekeyed! Renewal, payment and requalification transactions do NOT require the QuickFill order number in the input file. The importer can locate the subscription using just the name and address. Similarly, address changes do not require a QuickFill customer number -- all you need is an old address and a new address.

The USPS ACS (Address Change Service) custom update
Recent postal rate increases included a significant increase in the difference between the manual and electronic rates for address correction notification. In response to this increase, CWC Software, Inc. has created a custom update for processing files created by the United States Postal Service (USPS) Address Change Service (ACS). This new custom update allows you to process changes of address as well as nixies – saving you time (no more rekeying) and money! You may download the information as a Microsoft Word document.
