Reinstate

Use the reinstate transaction to reverse the effects of a cancellation, an indefinite suspension, or to remove a temporary suspension before the issue you specified becomes current. You can also use this transaction to unsuspend a subscription that you suspended for nonpayment—but use caution. Unless you also change the billing series, QuickFill suspends the subscription again the next time you run the billing update.

If you told QuickFill to cancel a subscription at the end of the term, the reinstate transaction lets you uncancel the subscription so that QuickFill can generate renewal notices. If you told QuickFill to cancel the subscription 'now', the transaction restores the subscription so that you can serve the remaining issues.

To reinstate a subscription, you must first lookup the customer to whom the subscription belongs. (Click here for details on the lookup procedure.) Once you are on the "Subscription and prospect record" lookup screen, select 'Reinstate' under 'Transactions' on the main menu.

A box with a message asking you to confirm that you want to reinstate this subscription will appear. Click on "Yes," and QuickFill activates the first order for which you have issues to serve the active order.

If a customer has more than one subscription that is suspended indefinitely, a box with a message stating the number of suspended subscriptions and asking you if you want to reinstate all of them will appear. Click on "Yes," and QuickFill activates all of the subscriptions that were suspended indefinitely. Click on "No," and QuickFill only activates the subscription that was highlighted when the 'Reinstate' transaction was selected. Or, click on "Cancel," and QuickFill will not reinstate any of the subscriptions.

Once you've finished reinstating the order, QuickFill updates the subscription summary and history and displays the order list. Now you can return to the main menu, or click on "Details" to display the order details.

Reinstating canceled subscriptions

(Click here for details on defining the backstart policy for reinstated orders.)

There is an amount due of $xx.xx - Do you want to:
Write off the amount due
Continue the billing series
Restart the billing series

If you choose to write off the amount due, QuickFill does so and won't generate a bill.

If you choose to continue the billing series, QuickFill generates a bill for the order. The bill will be the next in the series that you were running before you canceled the subscription. Don't choose this option if the billing series has already run out . If you do, QuickFill again cancels the subscription the next time you run the billing update.

If you choose to restart the billing series, QuickFill will generate a bill for the order, beginning with the first bill in the series.

Since the 'Reinstate' transaction is not a batched transaction, it is recorded in the miscellaneous batch. Click here for details on the miscellaneous batch.
