In the day-to-day toil of customer service one often finds the need to print a single label for sending a missing issue, form letter, or other acknowledgment. QuickFill has a facility for creating such "one-shot" labels; and, it is accessible from the transactions menu as well as from the tool bar.
One-shot labels are not printed immediately. In order to avoid keeping label stock in the printer at all times, the one-shot labels are accumulated in a list that you may print at your convenience. You may also schedule the printing of one-shot labels with your end-of-day updates. Click here for more information on the printing of one-shot labels.
To create a one-shot label, first use 'Lookup' to select the customer or subscription for which you want to make a label. (Click here for details on the lookup procedure.) If the label is in reference to a particular subscription you should select that subscription. By doing so you will ensure that QuickFill will record the fact that a label was produced in the history of the subscription and will give you an opportunity to enter a comment. If you select a customer from the customer list without selecting a particular subscription QuickFill will not make an entry in the subscription history and you will not be able to enter a comment.
Once the cursor is on the subscription or customer for which you would like to create a label, select 'Make Label' from the 'Transactions' menu or click on the 'Make label' toolbar button (see below). QuickFill will now display a pop-up box that contains the selected customer and provides space for you to type in text for the top line of the label. Fill in the top line with the form letter number, issue date, or any other information that will help you remember what is to be mailed, then click on "OK" to create the label. On the bottom of the screen is a space for you to enter a comment (the comment area will be grayed out if you selected a customer, not a subscription).
If you selected a two-party or group subscription using an order number and would like to make a label for a ship-to address, click on "Shiptos" to display the list of group members, position the cursor on the desired customer, then select 'Make'Label' to make the label image appear.
