Use the 'Delete bill-to' transaction to remove the billing address from a two-party subscription. When you complete this transaction, you've changed the subscription into a single subscription. You can use this transaction to reverse the effects of an 'Add bill-to' transaction.
You don't need to use this transaction if you're renewing the subscription. Whenever you renew a two-party subscription, you will be given an opportunity to delete the bill-to.
You can't use this transaction to remove the billing address from a group subscription. That's because you can't have—by definition—a group subscription without a billing address.
To delete a bill-to address, you must first lookup the subscription from which you would like to delete the bill-to. (Click here for details on the lookup procedure.) Once you are on the "Subscription and prospect record" lookup screen, select 'Delete bill-to' under 'Two-party' under 'Transactions' on the main menu.
The screen that appears contains the existing bill-to address and the ship-to address, as well as a message asking: "Delete this bill-to address?" If you choose "Yes," QuickFill changes the two-party subscription to a single subscription. Any future bills go to the ship-to address. If the bill-to address is not linked to any other subscriptions, QuickFill deletes its customer record. If you choose "No," QuickFill returns you to the previous screen.
Since the 'Delete bill-to' transaction is not a batched transaction, it is recorded in the miscellaneous batch. Click here for details on the miscellaneous batch.
Error messages
n You can delete the bill-to address only from two-party subscriptions
The subscription you chose was either a single or a group subscription. This transaction works only for two-party subscriptions.
n This
is not an active subscription
Are you sure you want to do this?
You usually don't want to delete a bill-to address from a subscription that is expired or canceled. If this is what you intended to do, click on "Yes," otherwise click on "No."
n Can't delete the bill-to when there is an unprocessed credit card payment
The customer paid for one of the orders for this subscription by credit card, and you have not yet run the credit card update to process the charge. QuickFill doesn't allow you to delete the bill-to address until you've run the credit card update. The reason: You want to make sure you have the correct name on the charge. If the credit card actually belongs to the ship-to customer, you must bounce the credit card payment—using 'Bounce payment' under 'Transactions' on the main menu—delete the bill-to address, then reenter the credit card payment.
