Average Prices Report (audit system only)

Use this report for two purposes:

  1. To prove the figures reported on the Publisher's Statement report for the overall average price calculation.

  2. To list all of the orders in a specific price group shown on the Publisher's Statement report.

Do not use this report for VAC audited publications. Instead you should use the 'Order Prices (VAC)' report, which retrieves it's pricing information for subscribers that received the audit issue instead of for orders entered during the audit period.

The information provided in this report is obtained by scanning the database. The output includes the following: order number, date, and batch; term; price; premium code; premium value; number of copies; price per issue (net price for ABC, gross price for BPA); sales channel; channel code; premium type; country code; classification; and status. The orders are sorted by term, net price and premium. At the end of the report you will find two lines that compute the average price of the orders that were listed in the report.

Publication

Enter the code for the publication for which the report is to be run. You may also right click once in this field to select from a list of publication codes.

Order dates

Once the publication code is entered, these fields will default to an order date range date appropriate for average price calculations used by the audit agency of the publication. For ABC this is the one year period whose end coincides with the beginning of the audit period. For BPA it is the same as the audit period.

Exclude orders canceled for non-payment

This field, which is selected by default, allows you to specify whether or not you want your report to exclude orders that have been canceled for non-payment. If you are attempting to prove the average price calculations then you should exclude orders that are canceled for non-payment. On the other hand, if you want to obtain a list of the orders in a specific price group then you should include all orders, even those that are canceled for non-payment.

Include shipping charge in price

This field allows you to specify whether or not you want to include shipping charges in the prices included in the report. This box should be checked for an ABC-audited publication if you are attempting to prove the average price calculation. On the other hand, if you want to obtain a list of the orders in a specific price group then you should not include the shipping charges.

Deduct premium value from price

This field allows you to specify whether or not you want your report to deduct premium values from prices included in the report. This box should be checked for an ABC-audited publication if you are attempting to prove the average price calculation. On the other hand, if you want to obtain a list of the orders in a specific price group then you should not deduct premium values.

Term

Enter a range of terms, and QuickFill will only include orders whose term falls within that range.

Country

These fields allow you to select orders from subscribers in specific countries. If you are attempting to prove the average price for an ABC-audited magazine you should select orders from the USA and Canada only. On the other hand, if you want to obtain a list of orders in a specific price group then you should probably leave these fields blank.

Classification

Use these fields to select orders with specific classifications, such as PI or PA. If you leave these fields blank, the report will include orders regardless of their classification.

Premium

Enter one or more premium codes, and QuickFill will only include orders with those premiums. If you leave these fields blank, the report will include orders regardless of the associated premium.

Channel

Enter one or more channel codes, and QuickFill will only include orders with those channels. If you leave these fields blank, the report will include orders regardless of the associated channel code.

Price per copy

Enter a price range, and QuickFill will only include orders whose price falls within that range. If you leave these fields blank, the report will include orders regardless of their price.

QuickFill uses the value in the discount rate field of a customer's order to determine and report the actual price the subscriber paid for an agency order (instead of the price the publisher received).
