About QuickFill's system limits

Database files:

Each database file can contain a maximum of 16,777,215 record slots.

You can determine the number of record slots in each file by running the 'Check Database' command on the File menu. Examine the report produced by this command for files 1 through 9 to determine the number of record slots in the data files. You can ignore files 10 through 13. Those are index files and their size is measured in nodes, not slots. It is highly unlikely that you will reach the maximum size for an index file.

If you are nearing the limit on the number of record slots in any database file you should consider purging some records to make space available. The files containing the most numerous records are these:

File 1 contains customer records.

File 2 contains subscription, order and qualification data records.

File 3 contains subscription history records and batch accounting records for the current period. Batch accounting records are deleted when the accounting period is closed.

File 7 contains prospect records.

Saved files:

You can save up to 500 report, label, bill, renewal, etc. files with the same file name and extension. Therefore, you can have 500 batch reports, 500 new order history reports, 500 issue label files, etc.

Transactions & Updates:

The Issue label update, cancel transaction and reinstate transaction are unable to process subscriptions with more than 40 future orders.

Computer name:

The maximum length of a computer name (defined when you set up Windows) is 13.  If the name is longer than 13 characters, QuickFill will only use the first 13 characters. In rare instances this might result in name collisions in the lock manager.

Imports:

The scrollable error log displayed when importing prospects or subscriptions retains up to 500 lines of error messages at a time. Once you go beyond 500 lines, only the 500 most recent lines will be displayed (that is, you will not be able to scroll back through all of the error messages.) Please note, this limit only applies to the error log that is displayed; it does not affect the import reports. The reports always list all errors encountered during an import.

Lock manager:

The default maximum number of users in the lock manager is 200. This can be increased by adding -u nnn (where nnn represents the number of users you want to increase the limit to) to the command line in the shortcut for the lock manager.

Note: each tab open plus each background report/update (when using "Run it now shared…" mode) counts as a "user."

Reports:

The Customer directory report using qualification filter can handle up to 8 lines of formatted qualification data.

The Audit issue galley report can handle up to 15 lines of formatted qualification data per record.
